Digital painting tips for beginners.I'm not the best person to give advice about art, once I do not consider myself an artist (yes, it's true lol). But I've always been very curious and interested with the theme "digital painting", and I spent (and still spend) hours and hours watching videos 2 hours long on Youtube lol livestreams, etc.. I think I'm the only person who has the patience for it, hahahaha, but it was what helped me to evolve and learn all the techniques I know now to perform my work. I asked the help of many artists that I admire, and some even helped me, but most of them do not care how much you want to learn. Thinking about it, I decided to make this journal to pass them what little I know, and I hope that this is helpful for someone. Are simple tips and a little obvious, but unknown for some people who just started in this world full of possibilities. I only ask, first of all, for you dont give up. The difficulties were made to be overcome.BRUSHES:This is the central theme of the
Abandoning Preciousness The most important thing about creating art is to create. If you want to be at ease with creativity, you have to immerse yourself in it, and do a little bit every day. Even if that little bit is only to take five minutes while waiting for the bus to come and do a gesture drawing of a man reading his book across the street from you. Or to take the moment to scribble down a thumbnail rough sketch of a concept that occurs to you. Do a little bit each day. Train your brain to think visually. It can be difficult at first, accustoming yourself to make this small bit of time, because you’ll think:“I don’t have enough time for it
Lacking Motivation? I hope this helps.Copied directly from the polycount thread:FYI My longest post on PC ever. Sorry in advance - OP I hope there's something useful in this for you. I'm back in your thread and giving you my morning before breakfast, is my way of saying ' I care '.Usually between 1 - 5 NEW students, per day come to me for random pieces of advice. Some from here @ PC , some from Deviant Art - Mostly from Deviant art. It's always the same questions maybe worded slightly differently and I do my best to answer every single time, every single message. Sometimes I get behind and have to catch up at the end of the week but I do my best.As well as those, I did 2 10+ question interviews last week, on my time, for students who were still in school. For school essays, papers, projects etc that contain the same questions they always do.I'm exposed to 'all this' *makes a big circle shape with hands* on a fairly constant basis. Everything that encompasses 'young artists trying to find their way in this scary fucking
Some Simple AdviceBizzarely, as if the universe just went 'okay people - ask now!' Just in one day today ive has so many pm's from various boards and whatnot from young / new artists asking me about what the secret is, how do I get better, what can i do, or i wish i could make stuff like you.My advice is actually pretty simple. I gaurantee if you do this repeatedly everything else will take care of itself.Step 1: Make some time for making art.Step 2: Get everything prepared before hand, drinks, snacks, music - whatever you need to see you through the next couple of hours for your personal art jam.Step 3: Unplug your internet.Step 4: Make art.I think too many people, especially young artists trying to find their way are looking too hard for something that doesnt even exist. Theres no secret formula, no awesome serum to drink. Just sit down and make art, and keep doing that over and over and over.Free yourself of burden and distraction for that hour or couple of hours and just do it. Thats all it i
